Help! I am stuck at the border. I cant cross over into "Land of the complete quilt top" until decide what border fabric to use. Here is where we were at last time I blogged about this quilt (4 days ago!).
I had a 3" grey border, then a 1" striped border and a final 3" grey border. I love the black and white stripe. It can stay. But it's too far away from the hexie blocks. That's cool. Easy fix... shift it inwards and redo the outer border 5" wide instead.
But the question is; Should I use a different fabric for the outer border?
I could use the red and black polka dot I purchased for the binding.
Or a purple polka dot. I feel very drawn to the colour purple at the moment.
What about all three? purple and red together is a pretty yummy and bold combo.
Perhaps a bit more of a relaxing polka dot, like this black and white one.
Or I could steal some of the backing fabric and put it on the front. This is a dark grey with blue and black medallions.
I am determined to get rid of this aqua bird fabric one of these days, so its gets to audition too.
I'd love it if you would take a moment to vote in the comments.

Black and white with the red or purple for the binding. Looking good!
It's hard to eb sure seeing a amall section of the quilt, but I
d say the blakc and white of the grey from the backing; maybe the grey with the black and white as the binding?
stripe then red or stripe then purple.
I like the black and white stripe followed by the black and white dots, it looks great against the grey and there is enough colour in the hexis so I think not adding an extra colour now suits it.
I liked the strip then red the most :)
Go the purple!
I also like the backing fabric and the black and white, although I think the black and white might dominate too much??
Love this quilt so much! You've done a great job!
