It's twelve years next month when my eldest child landed earthside. Today I walked my youngest one up to his first day of proper full-time school. That's a dozen years of having always having little one at home with me. In those 12 years there were times I worked part time out of home, worked in the home; used daycare and the littlies have also gone to kindy a few days a week in there 4th year. But this is the end of having a little kid (or two) hanging around for company most of the time. Of course, they are only at school for 30 hours a week- so I still have to 'mother' them the rest of the time, but it's still a pretty big milestone don't you think? A dozen years- that's the longest I've stuck at anything! LOL What am I going to do with my life now... between the hours of 9am and 3pm?
George was very happy and excited to be heading up to school. This morning he asked me if he was going to learn to read today! I had a very weird twilight-zone moment because there is a story about me on my first day of school coming home in a grumpy mood because I hadn't been taught to read yet.
How freakin' cute is his Lego backpack? The knobbles are little zippered pockets.

My baby (grade 3) is named George too! It's such a cool name ;) I've been "mothering" for 18yrs next month, I found the first year hard but also nice. Time to sew more and rediscover yourself :)
Hope George has had a great week at school. Love the Lego backpack!
