Undergarments

Here are the finished undies I started working on last week.

I decided to draft up a singlet pattern and make some matching sets.

George test driving the prototype singlet.
I was thinking about adding the undie/singlet sets to my tin whistle range and made these with the purpose of trialling them at Red Feathers and a Hula Skirt (which is the Bricks and mortar shop that stocks tin whistle)... but now that I have actually sewn them them up I and dont think I could put a price on them that reflected the amount of labour that went into them (well the price would not appeal to potential customers anyway!).

I'm dark

Can you see the big rip in the underarm area? :( Did that yesterday down at the park. I was simply leaning forward to support my DD2 while she did a carthweel. Has anyone else had problems with the fit of garments made from this pattern? I really is too tight accross the bust.

To cheer myself up I decided to make some undies. Here they are in a gorgeous little stack with the ribbing all pinned on.

Snapshot sunday- Womnes tunic V2.0

Last snap shot Sunday I hinted about a tunic I was making for myself. Well I finished it off that day, but was very disappointed to discover that it was MILES too big. I hate that! Especially when you actually measure yourself and use the size guide supplied with the pattern. Grrrrrr. Normally I would ditch the pattern in disgust, but I was actually quite impressed with how nicely it turned out (major sulk that I wont get to wear it!), so this weeks Snapshot Sunday photo shows the the fabric I have cut out for Women's Tunic V2.0. This time I have drafted off the size that will apparently be 4 sizes too small. Hopefully it will fit perfectly!

And in the interests of completeness, here is the completed V1.0 garment.

Another Shearwater kaftan

After I trialed the Make It Perfect Shearwater pattern a couple of weeks ago I spent some time hunting down voile fabric. I finally nabbed this gorgeous vintage polkadot voile in an Ebay auction and when it arrived I quickly whipped it up into a Shearwater Kaftan.

While I love the idea of this pattern, I am still not loving the fit. Especially across the bust. My suggestion, if you dont feel confident enough to adjust the pattern like I did, is to size up.

Scooby doo- mini refashion

I picked up this t-shirt on the bargain rack this week, George loves Scooby Doo at the moment, but will probably have moved onto smething else by the time its warm enough to wear short sleeves. Adding in some long sleeves from scrap knit fabric makes the garment wearable right now.
