Holidays...

Just a quick post beofre I head off for a mini-5 day holiday to my parents place. I wanted to update you with some sewing I did last week while my sister, BIL and nephews were visiting for easter.

First up I finished piecing the disappearing nine patch quilt. Borders still to go, but I needed a rest from it for a week or so. I am enjoying looking at it up on my sewing room wall while I ponder how to do the borders.


My newphews both asked for a top like "Matilda's Charlie and Lola one". Hugh picked blue on while and Tim picked stripes on white.

I fI finally got around to making my sister an amy butler apron, something I had promised MONTHS ago. We picked out these stunning fabrics from the Ikea Furnishing range. They are quite heavy duty cottons, and I thought two layers of it might be too much for a apron, but it worked out fine.
