For your interest the tinwhistle hangbag pram accessory fits nicely on the Phil and Teds E3 and Sport models. The bag in unobtrusive (unless you pick a LOUD fabric that is!) and does not get in the way of the toddler riding in the doubles seat.

Dungaree's for groovy guys AND girls
I decided to have a go at making up some of the retro dungaree's in hot pink just to see how they would look as girls wear. I have got to say I love it!!! These ones are a pink cord with Michael Miller "Bounding Blossoms" fabric lining the bib and brace. They look gorgeous on but I didnt have a chance to snap a pic before they went to their new home. At the moment I am playing with adding little frills on the shoulder straps. Stay tuned about that one.
At the rate things are going Georges wardrobe is going to be made up entirely of retro dungaree's and pants in whacky cotton fabrics.
Chocolate dungaree's
The MBU twins- transport for your transport update
In an earlier entry I blogged about a custom order for 2 gorgeous liners and a hangbag I made for a set of fraternal twin mountain buggies (that is the MBU's are the same model in different colours, but are used to transport 2 different aged brothers LOL). The owner has kindly emailed me some photographs of her prams all decked out. The transport fabric compliments the two pram colours perfectly.Custom order hang bags- cats, babushka's and classic black.

Elizabeth and her nifty Elna Lotus ZZ sewing machine
My oldest daughter, Elizabeth, has just started sewing lessons (and the ripe of age of 7 yrs, 11 months old) and already is addicted to sewing. Here she is sewing up a bag (number 4 for the day) on her new machine, a hand-me-down from my Mum. Its an Elna Lotus ZZ travel machine. The machine case folds down in three pieces to form a sloped sewing beds. Rather like the way a lotus flower opens up- hence the name of the machine. ZZ refers to 'zig zag', a stitch the more basic Lotus machine didnt have (SP model). The Lotus ZZ model was manufactured from 1968 to 1977. The machine itself is about two thirds the size of a regular one - so perfect for an almost 8 year old.

Bugaboo Cameleon reversible tailored seat and hood set.
******August 2010....Please do not leave a comment here asking for the pattern, it is not available for sale or otherwise*******
I mentioned a few entries ago that I was working on creating a pattern for the Bugaboo Cameleon hood and seat cover. The hood and seat cover of this pram can be easily removed for washing and if the owner wants to change the 'look' of the pram they can do easily by switching the hood/seat set to another colour. Extra Bugaboo tailored sets can be bought as an accessory for $175. The removability of the hood and seat liner lends itself to be easily copied in more interesting fabrics by someone interested enough to do it. I was up to the challenge! An online friend lent me her bugaboo pram and supplied me with a selection of fabrics. My job was to create a new hood and seat cover. I am quite pleased with how it has turned out and even managed to get the seat cover to be reversible, this means that the pram owner can get two different looks in the one pram. Unfortunartely the hood attaches to the pram in such a way that does not lend itself to also being reversible. The pictures below are of a 3 piece reversible set; the seat fabric with a different fabric choice on each side and a nice plush filling between the layers and 2 hoods, one in each colourway. The bugaboo branded hoods have an unusual foam-like wadding in them, so I decided to use pellon between the layers of my hood. I am not sure that it really needs it, as it has between 2 and 3 layrs of cotton fabric anyway. But the pellon gives it a nice substantial feel.

newsflash... tinwhistle liner is good to go in the Quinny Zapp!
One of my customers had reported back to me that her custom order TinWhistle liner fits wonderfully in her Quinny Zapp stroller. Here is a pic she took and sent back to me. She tells me that the TinWhistle hang bag works well on the Zapp too, and I have had feedback from another customer that the hangbag also fits nicely on her Phil and Ted Sport pram.
She also sent me some photo's of the liner in her MBU in the lovely Coco colourway. The liner looks a lot nicer than it did in my orange MBU.

Jim Jams
Today I decided to make George some winter Jim Jams because he will need some in due course and I wanted to have a play with this cute kimono pattern. I reworked it completely and now its fully lined, much softer and warmer for little babies. My husband thinks its a little too girly- I dont think so. They are only jim jams so who cares anyway! I think they look gorgeous on.

Are you sick of prams liners yet?
Tin whistle boys gear
These are some items I have sewn up for my Tin Whistle store http://strollersandprams.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=14. The Little Explorer shorts are
size 3, I have reworked the treasure pouch a little. I love the new founded shape a bit more piratey or something! I have altered the dungaree's from the original, just to give it my own stamp and to steamline how they get put together. I have also drafted a smaller size. The ones pictured are size 2.
Fat Quarter Challenge.
I am participating in a challenge with an online crafty buddy group I belong to. I recall blogging earlier that I was doing this and even posted a pic of the fat quarters I was going to use. Anyway the idea is to buy a fat quarter of fabric (18x22 inches) and then use up as much of it as you can in one or more projects, adding in as many other fabrics/notions as you need. Who ever has the least amount of fat quarter scraps left at the end wins the challenge.
I chose cute pirate fabric as the FQ for the challenge. I also bought a co-ordinating stripe.

Let me state straight up that I have heaps of little tiny scraps left! I was intending to applique on some t-shirts with the larger scraps but I just dont think its going to happen in time for the 14th Feb closing date. So its time for me to post up my crafty creations. The first item is a pair of size 1 pants for mt son, George. I used most of the fat quarter on one side, and had bought a second FQ in the same fabric for the other. I then added a patch pocket and used some of the stripe for ankle cuffs and a pocket flap.

The second item I made was a pair of cloth baby shoes. They are just to die for arent they? I didnt use the rest of FQ to its bestadvantage as I really wanted to fussy cut the front piece of the shoes so they would have a complete picture in each..JPG)
