Elizabeth is in a bolero making frenzy at the moment. I found a cute and simple little pattern from the Simplicity "its so easy range"; Simplicity 3652. The pattern calls for the jacket to be made in polar fleece, which is a pretty good choice for beginners as the fabric doesn't need edging and polar fleece is forgiving if the stitching is a bit wonky. The size range of this pattern is from 2 yrs right up to size 16, which is a bit unusual (in a good way).
Photographed is my favourite of the bolero's. Its made from some tartan polar fleece which we got in the remnant bin at spotlight and then Elizabeth trimmed with some red polar fleece. She has made herself another 2 bolero jackets in other colours and also one for Matilda.
