Henry's "bubble" Pants

This is one of my nephews, Henry. He is a disposable wearer but my sister insisted that he should be a 'tester' too! When he wears them they are pants, not 'longies'

Henry's pants were completed July 2007. Mosaic stitch in Chocolate and red 100% wool yarn. Light blue Elastic waist and chocolate ribbed cuffs.

I love the "bubble" stitch- like the greek tile pattern it looks much more complex that it is.

Tate's Greek tile longies

My first disaster! I totally muffed up the sizing and Tates longies were too narrow and he only got a few weeks wear out of them.

Completed in June 2007 Mosaic stitch in Denim and cream 8ply 100% wool "TATE" worked in fair-aisle around each ankle Elastic waistband and turned cuffs.

Kade's Greek-tile longies

Kades mother willingly allowed me to knit some longies for her son. I love love love this greek tile patter (as you will see in later entries). Its very striking to look at and much simpler to knit up than appears.
Completed June 2007
Mosaic stitch in black and white 8ply 100% wool.
"Kade" worked in fair-aisle around each ankle
Elastic waistband and turned cuffs.

The Greek tile pattern had extra rows inserted to 'ease' it over a bulky nappy.

TJ's longies

After making my first pair of longies I wanted to test out the pattern on other babies and got a few willing victims via Essential Baby.

TJ's Fair-Aisle longies are the same as Georges but in a different colourway.
Completed May 2007
Black, red, grey and teal 100% wool 8ply yarn

Georges Fair Aisle Pants

One day I sat lameting the poor choice of groovy boy 'longies' to wear over modern cloth nappies. So I got out my needles and created "Georges Fair-Aisle longies". Completed May 2007 and are modelled here on George when he is 6 months old.

Grey and red fair-aisle with turquoise waistband and cuffs.
100% 8ply wool

I used the Aubrey DoodlePants pattern http://www.aubreydoodlepants.com/ which I had to modify slightly to accomodate the fair-aisle pattern.
